About Bethesda

The Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase community stretches from the District of Columbia (DC) line to beyond the Capital Beltway. It is comprised of the communities of Bethesda, North Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights. With a population of more than 115,000, 3 public high schools, 7 post offices, 5 Metro stops, more than 10 hotels and countless restaurants serve the area.
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase area is served by the WMATA Metro (subway) system. With three stops along Metro’s Red Line, Bethesda is easily accessible from throughout the Washington area. In addition, there are two public bus systems—Metrobus and Ride-On—serving the entire Bethesda, North Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights corridor.
