BCC ROTARY CLUB
Jane has been a Rotarian for over 10 yrs. Her involvement with the club includes not only participating actively in the clubs projects and events as Chairperson of the Social Committee and Chairperson of Strut your Mutt 2006, but also for 6 yrs Jane has been a mentor to a girl whose family fled Nigeria during its civil war in 1993. Jane mentors these children and their family, taking part in back to school shopping, sending them to summer camp, resolving school problems, going on field trips plus reading and discussing their favorite books (mostly Harry Potter!) Jane received the President's Award from the BCC Rescue Squad in 2006, she was also named Rotarian of the Year 2006 for the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club.

BCC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Besides sponsoring numerous chamber activities throughout the yr, Jane is actively involved in various committees, such as the Real Estate committee and the Economic Development Committee. Jane is currently on the Board of Directors. Jane and her team have been a part of the Goodwill Dinner event, both as sponsors and volunteer participants for over 5 years.

Strut your Mutt Bethesda
Sponsored by the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club to benefit the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, the event begins with a grand parade of strutting dogs and their owners on Woodmont Avenue, followed by both family activities and activities on stage such as dog contests, fashion show, and Urban Search and Rescue dog demonstration, designer dog house auction and even a pet psychic. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad is composed of 150 dedicated, professionally trained volunteers. Their ambulances, medic units and rescue vehicles respond to more than 11,000 emergencies per year, including heart attacks, illness, traffic collisions, and house fires. All their service is free of charge and without tax funds from Montgomery County government.

The Jane Fairweather Community Service Scholarship
Every year Jane and David Fairweather offer a scholarship award to 3 deserving seniors from Walt Whitman , Walter Johnson and Bethesda-Chevy Chase High Schools. This monetary award is offered for outstanding community service.
